Provide First Aid (Level II) 

This course is a nationally recognised course. As per the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, first aid skills are renewed every 3 years, and resuscitation skills are renewed every 12 months.​ This course involves pre-course reading and assessment that must be completed before the course.  This can be completed online or with by workbook.

  • Managing unconscious casualties

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Using a defibrillator (AED)

  • Legal issues in first aid

  • Infection control

  • Diabetes

  • Heart attack

  • Asthma

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Wound and bleeding management

  • Burns

  • Fractures and dislocations

  • Sprains and strains

  • Head and facial injuries

  • Spinal injuries

  • Medical emergencies

  • Choking

  • Abdominal and chest injuries

  • Heat and cold induced conditions

  • Poisoning management

  • Bites and stings

  • Stroke

Things to Consider

Mallee First Aid is dedicated to providing as many people as possible with the skill and knowledge of First Aid, NO student will be excluded from a class due to age, mobility or any other physical or mental challenge that they might have.  BUT to receive an accredited Statement of Attainment (a certificate) a participant must:

  • Be 14 + years old

  • Have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to National Reporting System (NRS) Level 2. (If you require any assistance with reading, writing or please contact Mallee First Aid prior to the course so that we can arrange assistance if required.)

  • Be able to complete the practical CPR component on the floor.  (We can provide you with assistance to get up and down. Please advise trainer if you need special assistance.)

  • To obtain a certificate you must have a Verified USI number (you can apply for one of these during the registration process)


  • Complete the online registration and the online theory prior to the face to face session (if computers are not your thing then please contact us for alternative arrangements, this may include increased course times and increase in prices)

  • Your venue at a time convenient to you (Min 8 people)

  • Courses opened to the general public are conducted at various sites around the Mallee.  (See course dates)

Cost

$160 per student

Course Assessment

The participant must complete both practical and theory assessments to be marked competent
